Final Fantasy Resonance Game Info: Platforms, Demo & Languages
Check platforms, the Chapter 1 demo, save carryover and language differences before starting this standalone single-player RPG.
Final Fantasy Resonance is a standalone, single-player turn-based RPG based on the first story arc of Brave Exvius. Square Enix describes it as an extensively rebuilt console RPG rather than a direct mobile port.
Platforms and release dates
The official platform list includes Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows through Steam or Xbox on PC. Console release was October 22, 2026. The Japanese announcement dates Steam to October 23 JST, while the Steam store can display October 22 by region. Check the storefront for the version you use.
What the demo includes
The free demo covers Chapter 1, with some level restrictions. Square Enix confirms that demo saves can carry into the full game. That confirmation is not a promise of cross-platform transfer: use the matching product and platform instructions, and keep your demo save while checking the result.
Language support varies by platform
| Official Japanese listing | Text languages |
|---|---|
| Switch / Switch 2 / PS5 | Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish |
| Steam / Xbox Series / Xbox on PC | Those five plus Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean |
Steam lists English and Japanese full audio. A translated guide on this website does not mean that every console edition offers the same in-game text languages.
Do I need Brave Exvius first?
The product is a standalone retelling of its first story arc. Visions function as equipped battle partners and a job-like system; they should not be treated as the mobile game's gacha roster or rarity rules. Start with our beginner priorities and chapter hub.
Is it multiplayer?
The official player count is one. Build and command your party within a single-player adventure; no multiplayer setup is needed.
