Final Fantasy Resonance Best Visions: Early Picks & Party Roles
Choose Visions by chapter, damage type and party role. Compare Terra, Warrior of Light and Cloud without relying on an untested universal tier list.
Start with the role your party is missing, then choose among the Visions you have actually unlocked. Terra is a useful magic candidate, Warrior of Light offers protection, and Cloud supports physical offense and stagger. These are capability-based recommendations, not a measured all-game damage ranking.
Early choices by role
| Need | Candidate | What the ability record supports |
|---|---|---|
| Elemental magic | Terra | Fire, Blizzard and Water are listed as magic attacks |
| Protection and recovery | Warrior of Light | Provoke on Vanguard Glaive; Cure and Protect in the skill list |
| Physical pressure and stagger | Cloud | Thunder Surge and Water Surge are physical skills with stagger power |
An entry in a full ability list is not proof that your current awakening stage already grants it. Read the unlock requirements before building a strategy around one specific skill.
Match the recommendation to your chapter
The release unlock guide places Terra, Warrior of Light and Cloud among Chapter 1 options. Do not interpret “Chapter 1” as “already in your inventory”: you still need to visit or complete the relevant unlock. Chapters 2–4 bring new encounters and requirements, so change the loadout when a fight exposes a missing damage type or support role.
Once broader travel opens in Chapter 5, reassess the options you have found. We are not ranking late-game Visions above a usable early pick simply because an endgame list places them higher.
Magic, physical damage and awakening
For Shoggoth, physical immunity changes the decision: Cloud’s Water Surge is physical despite its element. Terra’s Water is magic when that skill is available. This is why a generic “best DPS” list can give the wrong answer to a specific fight.
Awakening and a character’s mastery progress are different checks. Before investing resources, inspect which upgrade changes the equipped skill set and which bonus belongs to the character. Do not copy Brave Exvius mobile rarity or gacha rankings into this game.

A practical swap checklist
Keep the current Vision for a difficult battle if it provides a necessary answer. For ordinary exploration, consider training another useful option after finishing the mastery target you wanted. Check healing, MP recovery and damage type again after changing a loadout. The recommendation is to preserve a functioning team, not to rotate blindly after every fight.
Inspect an individual Vision
- Terra: awakening magic, Magic Boost and Meltdown's ally targeting.
- Cloud: physical elemental skills, Libra and critical-hit Mastery rewards.
- Warrior of Light: Provoke, Multi-Cover and defensive AP choices.
