Getting started

Final Fantasy Resonance Beginner Guide: Your First Priorities

Start with a useful party, equip your first Visions and understand stagger before spending time grinding. A practical route through the opening systems.

Your first priority is a working set of battle options: protection, recovery and attacks that answer enemy weaknesses. Follow the story to unlock systems, then make short detours when they solve a specific problem.

Set up before your next dungeon

  1. Open Equipment & Abilities and check each active character, rather than only Rain. A new weapon is useful only if its damage type and bonuses suit that character.
  2. Equip a Vision on each available party member. Early story Visions are Tronn and Leah; Warrior of Light, Terra and Cloud have sanctums in Grandshelt. Their unlock index explains the acquisition types.
  3. Keep a recovery option available. A party that can deal damage but cannot heal has little room to recover from a bad turn.
  4. Use a manual save before an unfamiliar optional fight. Do not judge its difficulty from the region alone.

Read the battle rather than repeat Attack

Check the action order and the skill preview. Element, physical or magic damage, and stagger power are separate properties. Try a suitable element, watch the gauge reduction, and arrange your actions to stagger an enemy before its threatening turn. The combat guide explains the bonus phase and Resonance.

A small amount of leveling may help when an enemy is above your level, but it does not turn physical damage into magic or remove an immunity.

Spend on the next useful upgrade

MRP develops the equipped Vision's Mastery Rank for its wielder. Magicite awakens a Vision and opens another set of skills. If an upgrade looks locked, check which of these systems it belongs to before farming. Review the next skill you actually want, then use the corresponding growth route.

Choose a detour with a purpose

Carry an Ether for Citrine Pot, visit a reachable sanctum for a missing role, or follow a marked quest for a known reward. For ordinary progression, return to the chapter hub instead of trying to finish every optional encounter immediately. These priorities are editorial advice based on the game's help and documented unlocks.
