Awakening materials
Final Fantasy Resonance Magicite: Sources & Repeatable Purchases
Find awakening materials through quests, chests, bosses and Colosseum shop unlocks. Separate finite rewards from sources you can use again.
Use Magicite to awaken Visions; use MRP to raise Mastery Rank. For a repeatable material supply, Game8 documents shop unlocks after clearing Colosseum leagues. Before that, quest rewards, treasure and optional fights provide finite early materials.

Choose the material size
| Material | Awakening upgrade |
|---|---|
| Magicite Shard | First star upgrade |
| Magicite | Second star upgrade |
| Magicite Cryst | Third star upgrade |
Speak to a Light Moogle when the awakening service is available and inspect the next stage. The menu's required material and your stock are the useful checks; character level is not a replacement.
Early sources with a defined reward
Look for quest rewards you can finish on your existing route. The documented early sources include the quest “Rear Support, Ahoy!” and other side quests, dungeon chests, and victories over optional cave bosses or Espers. At Oblivion Palace, the Tablet Shard reward table lists Magicite Shards at totals 9 and 24, Magicite at 40, and a Magicite Cryst at 64.
Treat these as collection rewards, not respawning farms. Check whether you already claimed a chest or quest before retracing an entire dungeon.
Unlock a repeatable purchase
Game8's launch guide links the material sizes to the first three Colosseum league clears: Fledgling opens Shards, Brawler opens Magicite, and Gladiator opens Crysts. Clear the corresponding league, then inspect the Colosseum shop. Purchases consume gil, so an unlocked stock does not make upgrades free.
The shop route is repeatable; defeating the same optional boss or reopening a collected chest should not be assumed to be repeatable. This guide does not prescribe an untested steal loop or a gil-per-minute record.
What to awaken first
Inspect the next skill and your immediate party gap. A new elemental option or recovery ability can matter more than upgrading a Vision you are not using. If the ability you want is an MR reward, follow Mastery growth instead of spending another material.
