Final Fantasy Resonance Vision Growth: Mastery, AP & Awakening
Understand what MRP levels, what Magicite unlocks, and how to keep learned abilities useful after changing your equipped Vision.
Mastery and awakening solve different problems. MRP raises the affinity between a wielder and their equipped Vision. Magicite awakens the Vision to open additional skills; collecting one resource does not automatically satisfy the other requirement.

Which system do you need?
| Your goal | Check this |
|---|---|
| Raise the wielder's Mastery Rank | Battle with the intended Vision equipped and earn MRP |
| Open another awakening stage | Check the required Magicite size and use the awakening service |
| Use a learned ability after changing Vision | Equip it in the ability menu and meet its AP cost |
| Fit several mastered abilities into one slot | Review that Vision's Spirit / Mastery Ability |
Use MRP deliberately
Before a high-MRP encounter, check the Vision on every active character. The rank belongs to that character's relationship with the Vision, so a rank learned by one member is not a reason to assume another member has learned it. Once a pairing has reached MR9, rotate it if your purpose is learning a different set of abilities.
For example, Terra lists Magic Boost at MR3. Reaching that rank and awakening Terra are separate checks. See the MRP guide for repeatable targets and one-time pots.
Awaken for a skill you will use
Magicite Shards, Magicite and Magicite Crysts support progressively higher awakening stages. Inspect the next stage before spending: the useful gain may be an element, protection or recovery option rather than a larger damage number. The Magicite sources guide separates finite rewards from repeatable purchases.
Make learned abilities active
The in-game help distinguishes abilities of the currently equipped Vision from learned abilities you equip separately. Learned abilities require a slot and enough AP. A Spirit combines that Vision's MR abilities into one Mastery Ability slot, but still has an AP cost: one slot is not the same as free.
If a bonus seems missing after a swap, reopen Equipment & Abilities and check whether the ability is actually equipped. Permanent stat bonuses, commands and equipable passives should not be treated as one interchangeable category.
