Party building
Final Fantasy Resonance Party Composition: Build a Useful Four
Choose four members by recovery, protection, stagger and damage needs. Includes early Vision pairings and adjustments for physical-immune enemies.
Build your four active slots around the next fight's requirements. The game's roles describe specialties, but Visions let you add tools beyond a character's original role.

Cover four jobs before choosing four favorites
| Job in your plan | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Recovery | Who heals before the next dangerous enemy action? |
| Protection | Who reduces pressure or takes targeted attacks? |
| Stagger | Who can empty the remaining gauge with an available element? |
| Damage | Who can exploit the opening with the correct damage type? |
These are planning jobs, not a rule requiring four different role labels. One member can cover several jobs, provided the same turn is not expected to do all of them.
A practical early starting point
Rain with Warrior of Light can add Provoke, protection and backup Cure. A character using Terra supplies Fire, Ice and Water magic. Cloud supplies Lightning and Water physical attacks and Libra. Fina's native Medic role gives you a recovery foundation; check what your actual party has unlocked before assigning a fourth slot.
This is a starting framework, not a measured best team. Do not remove your only dependable heal just because a new damage skill has appeared.
Adjust to the obstacle
Against physical immunity, swap the blocked damage source rather than merely choosing another element. Against threatening turns, prioritize a stagger before that action or a protective response. In a long dungeon, compare MP consumption with your available recovery.
Nichol's Formations support allies; he is not a substitute for a direct attack simply because a formation improves damage. Jake's luck-based skills can change his later options, so inspect their conditions instead of treating every command as immediately available.
Recheck after a Vision change
Open Equipment & Abilities after changing the party. Confirm the damage type, learned passives, AP cost and recovery coverage again. Use the character roster for native specialties, and the combat guide for timing the turn.
